Weekend Rant #1

About once a month, I’ll be doing an extra, off-topic weekend posting about something I find annoying or lacking in common sense.

Today’s topic: the health care debate.

Here’s what I don’t understand.  It seems to me that if insurance companies are making billions of dollars while not providing any actual health care, then that cannot possibly be the most efficient way to take care of people.

Right?  Or am I missing something?

And, is my memory fuzzy, or did we never talk about health care reform when Blue Cross/Blue Shield was non-profit?

In other words, I can see why people might have a problem with government providing health insurance.  But why isn’t a non-for-profit provider even part of the discussion?

I’m just saying…
